The Minooka girls were able to defeat Channahon and Ottawa to claim back to back regional championships. On their home floor, they rallied from over ten points down to defeat New Lenox Martino to head back to the State Finals. In a a matchup with a physical Jane Addams squad, the Indians battled their way to a double-digit victory. In the state semi-final game, they matched up against the defending state champion in Canton-Ingersoll. Minooka confused and rattled Canton in the first half, taking them completely out of their offense. In a hard fought back and forth contest, Minooka was able to edge Canton by two points, avenging their only other loss from the previous year. Effingham presented a challenge in the state championship game as they applied a variety of pressure (full, 3/4, and half court). Minooka struggled offensively, but used their defense to stay close.
